All The Good Things {January}

Since it’s a new year, I’m starting  a little monthly round-up of the good things I’ve discovered that might not necessarily warrant an entire blog post by themselves. Some big, but mostly small things that I’ve found and want to share with you. . .

ONE—I’ve really enjoyed my little blue and white lamp in our entryway—just the right amount of light for night and early mornings. Mine sold out but I just found this one and I actually think it’s prettier than the one I own.

TWO—At $2, this is my favorite inexpensive beauty find of the month. I’ve never used a twist-up eyebrow pencil before but now I’m hooked. Comes in handy if you get the bright idea to (over)trim your own eyebrows. . . #fail

THREE—I’ve gotten sucked into the IT cosmetics infomercial several times over the last few months. The lady at Ulta told me this is basically the same foundation formula and sold as a “CC cream” in the store. She advised me to apply only with a brush (I bought a less expensive one) and I really do love the coverage. (For reference, I bought the “medium” shade.)

FOUR—Another new-to-me product. So, this is how you get the intense matte lips. . . It goes on with a sponge applicator and “sets” for about 15 seconds. I’m loving the bright pink shade called “Sentimental.” Note: It looks like the color shown in the actual tube and not what they show on the model.

FIVE and SIX—I love a good pen and journal combo. These would be great addition to a morning quiet time, especially if you like to doodle, hand letter, etc.

SEVEN—This was one of my favorite podcast episodes I listened to this month. An interesting conversation on raising girls to stand up for themselves while still showing kindness and how to deal with the anxiety, insecurity and hormones that come along with girlhood. . .

EIGHT—I actually bought these booties a couple of months ago and have been wearing them a lot. The chunky heel makes them comfortable, and I love the combination of wearing the cognac color with black.

NINE—I’ve become kind of addicted to pajamas in the last few years. These are the ones I wear most right now. They are the softest ones I own and they wash great. Highly recommend! (They also come in a skinny pant.)

TEN—My hair feels so dry when I using my blow dryer and flat iron a lot. This shampoo and conditioner has made such a difference in the way it feels. I usually only buy cheap shampoo but in this case, I think it’s worth the money. Down side (for me): my girls love the way it makes their hair smell and use it every day. . .

ELEVEN—I’ve been trying to eat an actual breakfast (as in not just coffee) on the days I’m home. This little pan comes in very handy for fixing (and cleaning up) my egg whites which I top with salsa and eat with toast.
